Fishing

Marsh Bay Resort is located on the Montreal River, which is home to many species of fish including Walleye, Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Perch and Rock Bass.

The river depths vary from 5 to 70 feet, providing a good variety of structure and habitat for the many fish. You can expect to catch more than enough fish for shore lunch and dinner. There is the occasional trophy-sized fish to be found in the Montreal River, but guests are encouraged to return these to the river and only keep the fish in the correct slot size.  When checking the regulations for fishing in northern Ontario - we are located in Zone 11.  You can find the regulations online at the MNR website, or ask in our office for a copy of the regulation summary.

You can bring your own boat to tie up at one of our three dock locations. Alternatively, you can let us know and we'll have a boat and motor ready for you to rent on a daily or weekly basis. Check the rates page for more information.
